Key Resonsibilities and Expectations:
  • Review customer specifications to ensure requirements are included in shop work orders.
  • Assure compliance with ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System

  • Perform internal audits, independent of repair personnel, at critical points in the repair processes.
  • To lead and maintain an effective quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

  • Facilitate implementation of continuous Improvement best practices across the facility.

  • Ensure records are kept and maintained in accordance with the IPS Quality Assurance Program.

  • Assess thoroughness of documented information to provide evidence of quality performance.

  • Collect and analyze quality performance data and provide regular summaries of quality performance metrics and activities.

  • Generate presentations and conduct quarterly quality management reviews.

  • Coordinate and facilitate customer quality audits.

  • Participate in team meetings, risk assessments, and execution of facility and process improvement projects.

  • Inspect the facility to detect existing or potential noncompliance and recommend corrective and preventive measures for preventing recurrence.

  • Review contracts and specifications to ensure customer requirements are incorporated into the work planning.

  • Generate motor inspection and repair reports to document and communicate compliance to internal and customer repair specifications.

  • Cross-train in other functional areas of the business to become familiar with departmental responsibilities and obstacles for implementation of continuous improvement practices and to provide support when needed.

As a Quality Control Manager for IPS, you will apply Servant Leadership principles to build trust and open communication as you manage the IPS quality systems (CIPS). This position will also manage quality activities to ensure that all manufacturing, repairs, services, supplied material and contract work meet customer requirements and reduce warranty and shop rework.
  • Monitor, improve and train staff in policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation as necessary to ensure practical implementation and compliance to customer, company, and system requirements

  • Implement inspection plans for purchased material, contract work, work in progress, and completed repairs

  • Perform audits, independent of repair personnel, at critical points in the repair process

  • Guide management and staff in evaluating repair processes to verify process controls and conformance to specifications and procedures

  • Guide management and staff in achieving improvements that provide a competitive advantage in capability, quality, and cycle time

  • Conduct regular audits. Through management, implement corrective actions and system improvements to eliminate deficiencies identified during audits

  • Ensure quality records are kept and maintained in order to identify opportunities for improvements, make informed decisions and to provide evidence of quality performance

  • Collect and analyze quality performance data and provide regular summaries of quality performance metrics and activities as requested by management.

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience
  • Required experience managing ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems

  • Training and experience in quality control and assurance
  • Electrical Testing experience highly preferred

  • Willingness and ability to handle a variety of responsibilities

  • Ability to relate well with others in a professional and knowledgeable manner

  • Ability to train others

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in MS applications or equivalent statistical software
