Job description

As a Project Engineer I – Power Systems, you will support the successful execution of industrial electrical projects by working alongside Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, Account Managers, and manufacturing partners. This role is designed as a developmental position that provides hands-on exposure to electrical distribution equipment, project coordination, customer support, equipment configuration, and estimating activities.

You will assist with the configuration and quotation of low-voltage electrical equipment using Siemens configuration and pricing tools, support customer project execution activities, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and occasionally assist with field visits and equipment startups. The ideal candidate is technically curious, highly organized, customer-focused, and eager to grow into future Project Engineering or Project Management responsibilities.

This position is primarily office-based with occasional opportunities to visit customer sites, participate in equipment inspections, and assist with startup and commissioning activities to support project execution and hands-on learning. The position can be located in the Greater New Orleans, Baton Rouge, or Lafayette metropolitan areas.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support Project Managers and senior Project Engineers in the execution of industrial electrical projects
  • Assist with the configuration, estimating, and quotation of low-voltage power distribution equipment using Siemens configuration tools and manufacturer platforms
  • Review customer drawings, one-lines, specifications, and project documentation to support equipment selection and project development
  • Coordinate with manufacturing partners and vendors to support quotation accuracy, equipment delivery, and project execution
  • Support project activities including submittals, documentation tracking, order management, customer communication, and schedule coordination
  • Participate in customer meetings, project discussions, and technical coordination activities
  • Occasionally travel to customer and project sites to support equipment inspections, field verification activities, and startup/commissioning support while gaining hands-on exposure to industrial electrical systems
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, vendors, account managers, and internal project teams
  • Support multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and responsiveness
  • Develop technical knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution systems, industrial applications, and project execution processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance project execution, customer experience, and operational efficiency
