Job Description TSMC Arizona is looking for a Digital Integration & Automation Engineer (Technical PM) to join our team located in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Digital Integration & Automation Senior Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability and enthusiasm and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values - Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
The Digital Integration & Automation Senior Engineer is responsible for leading the implementation of smart factory technologies, automation workflows, and robotics systems. Our systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
Digital Integration & Automation Engineers work closely with manufacturing, facility teams, suppliers and vendors daily to understand systems reliability and quality concerns and work to resolve issues.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Responsibilities:
  • Solution Deployment: Evaluate, pilot, and integrate digital solutions, automated systems, and robotics to improve operational efficiency.
  • Technical Specifications: Translate operational bottlenecks into concrete technical requirements and draft RFPs/specifications for vendor bidding.
  • Compliance & Security: Partner with internal IT, Cybersecurity, and Safety (EHS) teams to ensure all systems successfully pass compliance and change management (MOC) reviews.
  • Process Automation: Design automated workflows, script data integration pipelines, and support real-time data visualization.
  • Operational Enablement: Build clear, simple guidelines to ensure smooth adoption of new systems by on-site operations teams.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • At least 3 years of software or automation engineering work experience with 2+ years of hands-on experience in systems integration, engineering project management, or automation deployment within high-tech manufacturing.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • A proactive, self-driven mindset with a strong track record of identifying and solving operational bottlenecks independently.
    • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable logic for both operators and executives.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly master unfamiliar hardware/software systems and technical documentation.

Physical Requirements
    • Primarily an office-based role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
    • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and carry light objects.
    • May require occasional travel to company sites or other meetings that involve walking through office, industrial or construction environments.

Training
  • Candidates may need to go to Taiwan for training depending on business needs.

Shift expectations
  • Candidates are expected to work on standard work hours, Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm
