We are looking for:
Alpharetta-Melt Processing Technician
  • The Melt Processing Technician provides operational, mechanical, process, and maintenance support to the Alpharetta Injection Molding operation.
  • This position operates the equipment and maintains the work processes necessary to achieve the unit's safety, quality, reliability, cost, and production goals.

We count on you to:
• Executes Molding programs in support of R&I, PR&ET, and commercial specimen requests.
• Operates Injection Molding machines and all auxiliary process equipment as required.
• Observes Injection Molding process and makes minor adjustments as needed.
• Provides clear and accurate process documentation and submits samples for testing.
• Coordinates timely shipment of products and follows up to ensure delivery.
• Ensures all Molding equipment is cleaned and maintained per SOPS.
• Maintains a safe work environment for self and others.
• Participates in all safety audits and attends required safety meetings & training.
• Takes direction from and works closely with the front line supervisor.
• Proactively communicate with their Supervisor to ensure an optimal work environment.
• Performs other customary tasks and duties as required.
• Overtime (over 40 hrs. / work week) and/or alternate shift work may be required.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Industrial electrical knowledge
• Working from electrical schematics
• Working knowledge of industrial controls, electrical circuits, and PLC's
• Proficient with voltmeter
• Demonstrates solid understanding of electrical safety and troubleshooting practices
• Required to take and pass both the written assessment and demonstrate the skills on actual assignments
• Perform more tasks and responsibilities without supervision.
• Solves problems with one's own judgement from past experiences
• Clearly understands what is acceptable and what's expected with their work
• Be able to manage ones time without being redirected
• Assist in JSA's
• Complete all assigned training
• Manages time effectively to complete assigned electrical work orders/jobs
You will bring:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's Degree or Technical Certificate/Diploma in related field preferred
• 2-5+ years related experience in plastics processing & maintenance, or 2+ years related experience with post-secondary Degree/Certificate in related field.
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of molding equipment is a plus.
• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• Functional knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Troubleshooting skills
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to regularly lift and move product weighing 55 lbs
• Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator
• Ability to drive a fork truck

  • The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, and qualifications. It can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
