Job Summary

Compile and post associate time and payroll data. Compute associates' time worked. Compute and post wages and deductions. Prepare paychecks.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Compile associate time, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.

  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments and post information onto designated records

  • Calculate or compute wages and deductions and enter data into computer.

  • Compare wage computations, logs, and time sheets to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies

  • Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, leave pay, and insurance coverage, to maintain and update payroll records.

  • Compile and submit payroll status and other reports to supervisors and managers.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.

  • Process and issue paychecks to associates.

Nature and Scope

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.

  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

  • None.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • No travel required.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Payroll Associate.

  • Workday experience.

  • Year-End process experience.
