Job description

We are currently seeking a Process Engineering Intern for our Waterbury, CT manufacturing facility. This role will work alongside the Operations Manager and experienced engineers and mentors, contributing to real-world projects that support our operations and product development. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical engineering experience while making meaningful contributions to the business. This role is designed for students who are available to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year, based on school schedule and business needs.
What You Will Do:
  • Partner closely with the Operations Manager to support process development, documentation, and validation of components and manufacturing processes
  • Assist with CNC-related manufacturing activities, including observing machine setups, supporting process improvements, and helping document standard work and tooling
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing, quality, and test data to support data-driven decisions
  • Support the design, build, documentation, and validation of basic electro-mechanical fixtures, tooling, or test stations
  • Participate in testing activities, analyze results, and help prepare reports summarizing findings, root causes, and recommendations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency within manufacturing operations

What We Are Looking For:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (4-year degree program)
  • Sophomore-level standing or higher
  • Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email for effective communication and documentation
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day) as required

Additional Characteristics:
  • Moderate noise level in the manufacturing environment
  • May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals and oils
