Summary

The Cyber Security Business Awareness Team is hiring an intern to support cybersecurity programs that influence employee behavior, reduce human-related cyber risk, and promote a strong security culture.

The intern will serve as a primary resource for ServiceNow requests received through the team inbox while assisting on projects and tasks in three key areas: Human Risk Management, Data Loss Prevention, and Vulnerability Management.

The ideal candidate will be in a Cyber or IT-related education program. This internship is ideal for a student interested in the intersection of cybersecurity, human behavior, communications, training, and organizational change management while gaining practical experience supporting an enterprise-wide security awareness program.

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor, triage, route and process ServiceNow requests received through the Business Awareness team ServiceNow queue.
  • Track ticket status and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain documentation, knowledge articles, process guides, and request templates.
  • Assist with reporting and metrics related to ticket volume, response times, and service delivery.
  • Assist with Human Risk Management program activities focused on reducing human-related cybersecurity risks.
  • Assist with the creation and scheduling of content for internal awareness platforms and channels, such as Viva Engage.
  • Help develop and update content related to training presentations, awareness materials, job aids, and educational resources.
  • Assist with cybersecurity awareness events, presentations, workshops, and outreach activities designed to promote secure behaviors.
  • Participate in special projects assigned by the other Key Management Areas as needed.
Education
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
Experience
  • Interest in cybersecurity human behavior, risk management, awareness, or education programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities while maintaining quality work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ticket fulfillment processes a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrate customer service mindset and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as phishing, social engineering, password security, data protection, or security awareness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for promoting secure behaviors and helping build a positive security culture within the organization.
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills. Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
