  • Intern must be working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, statistics or related field

As a Data Analyst Intern you will be using tools such as Microsoft Excel and SAS to identify, design, recommend, and execute solutions to clients. You will gain experience in aggregating, validating, and reviewing medical claims data, creating models to inform policy decision-making, and developing and deploying tools such as dashboards, infographics, and reports.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Assist in development of client deliverables including written documents.

  • Manage timelines including completion of client deliverables (Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.).

  • Ensure all work products are technically peer reviewed and submitted for consulting review.

  • Actively communicate project status updates with internal team (junior and senior members).

  • Help support client teams with a combination of raw data analysis and aggregation to support external reporting.

  • Display initiative in research beyond the specific assignment.

  • Load, process, and analyze health care enrollment and claims / encounter data to support a variety of health care consulting projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.25 strongly preferred 

  • Interest in healthcare finance and policy

  • Exposure to data analytical tools (Excel, Tableau, SAS, SQL, WPS, Python) is preferred

  • Broad analytical knowledge necessary to generate analytical solutions

  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with others

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
