Job description

Exciting contract opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in the 5th and 6th grades starting in August 2026 through June 2027. Near Derry, NH, this full-time assignment (32–37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday) offers two unique and rewarding positions within an elementary/middle school setting.

Details of the roles include:

  • One Resource Room Teacher position, responsible for a grade-level caseload of approximately 15 students needing instructional support and intervention.
  • One Life Skills/Intensive Needs Teacher role, managing a self-contained classroom with 3 students presenting complex medical needs and/or autism spectrum disorders. Support for each student is provided by a dedicated paraprofessional.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Special Education, with eligibility for New Hampshire licensure.
  • Prior experience working with elementary or middle school special education populations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Familiarity with resource room models and/or intensive needs/life skills teaching methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
