Job description

Step into a fulfilling role supporting middle school student grades 6th through 8th. ProCare Therapy is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a school-based, contracted position near Lafayette, TN for the 26/27 school semester.

You’ll join a vibrant school environment and work directly with a caseload of around 80 students with IEPs. This full-time opportunity is available immediately and will extend through May 2027, offering you consistency and the chance to build meaningful connections with your students.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must hold a valid Tennessee Special Education (TN SPED) credential/certification
  • Must hold a TN SPED Interventionist Certification 
  • Experience developing and managing IEPs for students with diverse needs
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize, document, and collaborate with team members
  • Effective communication abilities with students, staff, and families
  • Enthusiastic about fostering inclusion and supporting academic and social development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and interventions aligned to each student’s IEP
  • Oversee and update IEP documentation, ensuring compliance and collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and related service providers
  • Serve as an advocate for 6th–8th grade students requiring individualized support
  • Utilize data and ongoing assessments to adapt instruction for student growth
