Cisco Layer 2 Troubleshooting Experience Description Job Description: Working with Telco providers, LECs, and customers in troubleshooting circuit and data issues Answering queries by telephone and e-mail in support of customer hardware, software, network, and telecommunication systems and execution of network procedures Provide operational support for all network components and conducts problem determinations, escalations and provides problem resolution Primary Responsibilities Monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment. It is desired that the Problem Management Network Specialist Journeyman has the following qualifications: • An active TS/SCI security clearance. • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIE, ITIL® v3 Practitioner or ITIL® v4 equivalent Foundations, and/or CISSP. • IT Certifications such as Security +, CISSP, etc. • SAFe® certified. • ITIL® v4 equivalent. Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems and provides overall Tier 2/3 Service Desk support. Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution. Trains users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts. Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms. Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards. Enforces network security procedures.
