Job description

SUMMARY OF MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

Elmhurst Home, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor to lead and support our behavioral health and substance use treatment programs in both residential and outpatient settings. This leadership role is ideal for a licensed clinician who is passionate about mentoring teams, ensuring high-quality care, and creating meaningful outcomes for individuals in recovery.

What You’ll Do

As the Clinical Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery, quality, and compliance of all clinical services while supporting and developing a multidisciplinary treatment team. This position reports to the CCO.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight

  • Ensure all therapy groups, counseling sessions, and clinical services are fully staffed and operating effectively
  • Provide direct clinical support and services when needed
  • Monitor admissions, discharges, census, and caseload distribution
  • Participate in case conferences, treatment reviews, and utilization reviews

Quality Maintenance of Direct Clinical Services:

  • Responsible for conducting and documenting fidelity checks (at least, quarterly) of group counseling sessions and didactics; provide feedback and, if necessary, additional training to each staff member.
  • Meet periodically with consumer group leaders to identify and discuss issues and concerns regarding direct services.
  • Coordinate closely with Quality Assurance staff to identify and resolve issues concerning Quality of Direct Services.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct regular fidelity reviews of counseling groups and didactic services
  • Ensure clinical documentation meets CARF, MDOC, DWMHA, and regulatory standards
  • Perform timely chart audits and documentation reviews
  • Provide detailed feedback to staff to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance
  • Approve reports, treatment documentation, and communication with criminal justice personnel

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee drug screening procedures and reporting
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and administrative leadership teams

Qualifications Required Education & Licensure

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • Current Michigan licensure as one of the following:
  • LMSW / MSW
  • LPC
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • LMFT
  • State of Michigan credential as a CAADC or CADC (must already be fully credentialed)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in substance use disorder and/or mental health counseling

Preferred Experience

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or pro-social skills training
  • Chemical dependency counseling experience
  • Experience working within residential treatment environments

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass LIEN clearance
  • No active warrants, probation, parole, or open DOC cases
  • If in recovery, minimum 5 years of verifiable sobriety
