Reports to: Physical Therapist/Director of Rehab
Position Type: PRN (As Needed)
Shifts Available: PRN (As Needed)
Job Summary:
Emerald Nursing & Rehab Cozad is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. The PTA will work closely with our physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our residents. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving the mobility, strength, and overall quality of life for our patients through personalized care and support. This position offers flexibility with scheduling and is ideal for those looking to work on an as-needed basis.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients' needs and progress. Provide hands-on therapy, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed.
  • Assessment & Documentation: Collect and document patient data, including progress notes, treatment outcomes, and responses to therapy. Report any changes in patients' conditions to the physical therapist.
  • Education & Support: Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and strategies for enhancing functional independence. Offer guidance on home exercise programs and preventive care.
  • Equipment Management: Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with the use of therapeutic devices and aids.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care. Participate in care team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in NE
  • Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.
