Job description

Process Technicians are responsible for supervising our injection molding machines, automation cells, robots, and auxiliary equipment. They manage start-up and shutdown procedures, monitor machine performance and parameters, and guarantee the production of high-quality parts. This role demands proficiency in machine operation, process optimization, automation, and quality control, with a strong emphasis on meticulous documentation and compliance. These efforts collectively support efficient production and uphold the superior quality standards essential to the injection molding process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operations:
    • Start up, restart, and shut down injection molding machines such as Krauss-Maffei, Engel, and JSW up to 3200T.
    • Continuously monitor machines during operation to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Adjust and optimize process run specifications to improve efficiency and quality.
    • Document all adjustments made to processes for future reference and standardization.
  • Automation and Secondary Operations:
    • Operate automation cells and secondary operation equipment, including vibration welders, hot plate welders, Fanuc robots, and assembly equipment.
    • Create and modify robot programs for tasks such as part picking from molding machines using robots like Wittmann and Krauss-Maffei.
  • Quality Control:
    • Audit process parameters and auxiliary equipment to identify any inconsistencies or defects.
    • Conduct quality audits to ensure that finished goods meet high-quality standards.
    • Complete First Article Verification sign off during new work order start-ups to ensure initial quality standards are met.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Complete all required process documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Participate in system audits to maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Material and Color Changes:
    • Perform material changes and color changes on injection molding machines as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience as a Process Technician in the injection molding industry
  • Experience with robot programs and part picking
  • Experience injection mold functions: hot runners, cores, pneumatic gates
  • Experience navigating injection molding machine controls and parameters
  • Experience with automation systems and secondary operations is preferred
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in the schedule
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills with the focus on root cause analysis

 2-2-3 schedule

7:00am to 7:00pm
