Job Description:
Manager, Identity and Access Management
We are seeking a Manager, Identity and Access Management to join our Cybersecurity practice. This is a client-facing consulting leadership role focused on IAM strategy, engagement delivery, client relationship management, team leadership, and account growth - not day-to-day configuration or engineering.
The successful candidate will bring broad working knowledge across identity governance, privileged access management, access management, authentication, authorization, and identity data. This person should have enough technical judgment to guide delivery teams, evaluate solution designs and tradeoffs, identify delivery risks, and communicate credibly with technical and business stakeholders.
You will partner with client stakeholders and Crowe leadership to shape IAM strategies and roadmaps, oversee teams performing the technical work, manage client relationships, and contribute actively to proposals, account expansion, and the continued growth of Crowe's IAM practice.
IAM will be the primary domain for this position. As a manager within Crowe's Cybersecurity practice, however, you will also be expected to contribute to adjacent cybersecurity engagements - such as risk assessments, IT control evaluations, governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, and cloud security reviews - as client demand and practice needs require.
This role is well suited to a consulting leader who has worked across multiple IAM domains and technology platforms, can lead senior client conversations independently, and enjoys strategic problem-solving, varied engagements, team development, and practice building. Hands-on implementation experience provides valuable context, but it is not the primary responsibility of this position.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership, Strategy, and Client Management
Lead the development of IAM strategies and roadmaps aligned with client business objectives, risk priorities, and technology environments.
Advise clients on Zero Trust and identity-centric security strategies at the program level.
Serve as the day-to-day client relationship owner for assigned engagements, managing scope, timelines, delivery risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations.
Lead client conversations independently and present strategies, findings, and recommendations to technical leaders, business stakeholders, and senior executives.
Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and address additional business needs.
Contribute to proposals, statements of work, RFP responses, solution development, and account planning.
Support the growth of Crowe's IAM practice through go-to-market materials, thought leadership, training, and service offering development.
Set solution direction and oversee the delivery of enterprise IAM capabilities across identity governance, access management, authentication and authorization, privileged access, and identity lifecycle management.
Guide technical delivery teams and review significant design decisions, implementation approaches, delivery risks, and technical tradeoffs.
Ensure the quality and consistency of delivery across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
Lead or oversee IAM risk assessments, control evaluations, maturity assessments, and remediation planning.
Help clients align IAM programs and controls with applicable regulatory requirements and frameworks, including NIST, ISO, CIS, and industry-specific standards.
Connect business, risk, security, and technology stakeholders to ensure IAM initiatives address both business objectives and security requirements.
Help assemble and lead engagement teams based on client needs, required capabilities, and project scope.
Mentor and develop consultants and senior consultants, supporting their career growth, consulting skills, and technical development.
Provide timely performance feedback and contribute to performance management activities.
Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and practice development efforts.
Lead or support cybersecurity engagements outside IAM, including risk assessments, IT control evaluations, GRC initiatives, security program maturity assessments, and cloud security reviews, when client demand or practice needs require.
Collaborate across security, cloud, application development, technology risk, and compliance teams, serving as a connector between business and technical domains.
Maintain sufficient knowledge of adjacent cybersecurity disciplines to contribute effectively across different engagement types.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
Seven or more years of experience in IAM, cybersecurity consulting, or a related field.
Demonstrated breadth across multiple IAM domains, such as identity governance, access management, authentication and authorization, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access management.
Experience leading client relationships, managing engagements, and overseeing teams in a professional services or consulting environment. Enterprise IAM leaders with comparable senior-stakeholder and delivery-management experience will also be considered.
Experience leading or overseeing IAM programs, transformations, assessments, or implementation engagements.
Working knowledge of major IAM platforms, such as Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, Saviynt, CyberArk, Ping Identity, and Okta, sufficient to evaluate proposed designs, delivery approaches, and technical risks.
Working knowledge of core identity standards and concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, Zero Trust, RBAC, and ABAC.
Demonstrated business development experience, such as proposal writing, statement-of-work development, solution shaping, or account growth contributions.
Demonstrated ability to translate technical risks and recommendations into business terms and advise senior stakeholders.
Experience staffing, mentoring, supervising, or managing consulting or delivery teams.
Working knowledge of adjacent cybersecurity areas, such as technology risk, IT controls, GRC, regulatory compliance, or cloud security.
Ability to contribute effectively to cybersecurity engagements outside IAM when business and staffing needs require.
One or more professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or an equivalent cybersecurity credential.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience at a consulting or advisory firm, such as a large professional services firm or specialized cybersecurity consultancy, with responsibilities comparable to those of a manager.
Experience contributing to practice-level initiatives, including service offering development, thought leadership, training, or go-to-market strategy.
Delivery experience across cybersecurity domains such as technology risk, GRC, IT controls, cloud security, or security program assessments.
Experience working in regulated industries, including financial services, healthcare, or government.
Familiarity with AI and automation trends in cybersecurity or identity governance, including non-human, machine, workload, and agent identity considerations.
Relevant IAM or vendor-specific certifications.
We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe's values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship. These values define who we are. We expect all of our people to act ethically and with integrity at all times.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Crowe is not sponsoring for work authorization at this time.
