Job description

SAMC - Baker City, Oregon is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital (i.e. CAH) serving Baker County and the surrounding communities in eastern Oregon. Saint Alphonsus Baker City has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Emergency Medicine or family practice BC/BE physician to practice in the Emergency Department, which is a Level IV Trauma Designation in the State of Oregon. The well- qualified candidate will commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care in the Emergency Department and support the regional needs of the Oregon Trauma System and the Saint Alphonsus Trauma Network. Requirements include a strong clinical background and completion of the required delineation of privileging which includes ACLS, PALS and ATLS as a minimum. The opportunity also requires Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at Saint Alphonsus Baker City. This is a .9 FTE employee working 24-hour shifts; 72 shifts/year.

Support: 24/7 CRNA Anesthesia; Level IV Trauma Center; ED; Saint Alphonsus FM clinic on-site; community family medicine clinics; SAHS specialty physicians rotate in outreach, larger system resources.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA family practice or emergency medicine residency program.
  • Board certification, or board eligibility in emergency medicine or family practice
  • Obtain Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at SAMC- Baker City and other health system affiliated
    hospitals as needed; valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
