Junior / Mid-Level Tax & Private Wealth Associate Attorney
Location: Miami, FL

Direct Counsel is seeking a Tax & Private Wealth Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join a leading Private Wealth Services practice in Miami. This role focuses on sophisticated international and cross-border tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and global clients.

Responsibilities
  • Advise foreign and domestic clients on U.S. federal income, gift, and estate tax matters.

  • Draft and implement domestic and cross-border tax planning structures.

  • Counsel clients on pre-immigration and expatriation tax planning.

  • Advise on cross-border investments and international information reporting, including FATCA and CRS compliance.

  • Handle U.S. withholding tax matters, including FIRPTA.

  • Provide guidance on offshore private placement life insurance and annuity structures.

  • Analyze complex international tax issues and prepare planning memoranda.

Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of international tax and private wealth experience.

  • Strong background in income tax planning.

  • LL.M. in Taxation required.

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Corporate tax experience is a plus.

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and client advisory skills.

  • Must be licensed or eligible to become licensed in Florida.

  • Must reside in the Miami area prior to hire and be available to work in-office at least three days per week.
