Location: St. Louis, MO

Job Type: Full-time, Day shift, Monday through Friday

Position Summary:

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the assessment of patients, including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care for patients undergoing procedures with moderate sedation. You will provide care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
  • Explains procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Supports and drives quality patient care by implementing facility-specific action plans and goals
  • Performs tasks with considerable judgment, providing assistance to team members and offering solutions
  • Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations, performing regular audits
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the facility, inspecting equipment, recommending repairs, and managing supplies efficiently
  • Assists with hazardous waste disposal and upholds environmental standards
  • Attends meetings, collaborates with physicians, and addresses their concerns
  • Participates in the development of radiography policies and supports regulatory surveys
  • Administers moderate sedation during procedure
  • Conducts pre-op and follow-up calls

  • Provides education and hands-on training related to patient assessment, moderate sedation protocols, documentation standards, and emergency procedures.
  • Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to new hires, reinforcing adherence to policies, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Supports competency validation and contributes to consistent, high-quality nursing practice across the department

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory

  • Proven working experience with moderate sedation

  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • Strong IV insertion skills

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Valid Registered Nurse license to practice in this state

  • BLS certification, ACLS certification (Or willingness to obtain)

  • English
