SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Manager of Cloud Engineering, the Cloud Engineer III is responsible for enterprise level design and expert level knowledge of Brown University Health’s complex Public and Private cloud infrastructures and components. The Cloud Engineer III focuses on engineering solutions that encompass performance, security, scalability, best practice, automation, and orchestration. This role is responsible for performance and maintenance on all cloud related infrastructure within Brown University Health. This role also provides support for platform specific Infrastructure projects as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Engineer III would be responsible for leading the architectural design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions. Developing and enforcing security policies and compliance measures to protect cloud infrastructure. Continuously optimize cloud performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability. Create and manage advanced automation scripts for deployment, management, and scaling of cloud resources. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions that align with business objectives. Design and implement robust disaster recovery and backup strategies. Mentor cloud engineers and provide technical guidance. Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and processes.


Cloud Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive cloud strategies that align with organizational goals.


Architecture Design: Design and oversee the architecture of complex cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.


Optimization: Continuously optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.


Innovation: Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, driving innovation within the organization.


Project Leadership: Lead large-scale cloud projects, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful implementation.


Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior and mid-level cloud engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.


Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures, processes, and best practices.


Security and Compliance: Implement advanced security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.


Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:


High School Diploma Required.  A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.


Advanced certification in one of the major Cloud platforms is required


EXPERIENCE:


10+ years of industry experience required, with a preference toward large enterprise environments. Extensive experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on advanced-level responsibilities.  Mastery of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.


Technical Skills: Deep understanding of cloud architecture, automation tools, and security best practices.


Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Pay Range:

$105,019.20-$173,264.00
