We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Telehealth Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Private Wellness Counseling Center. In this full-time remote position, you will play a critical role in enhancing the mental well-being of our diverse clientele through effective therapy and evidence-based interventions.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, utilizing a telehealth platform to facilitate counseling sessions. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' needs during initial consultations.
  • Collaborate to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring they are specific, achievable, and measurable.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth, employing various therapeutic modalities based on client needs.
  • Monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Maintain communication with other healthcare professionals involved in the clientโ€™s care, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, particularly when medication management is involved.
  • Identify, address, and mitigate factors that may hinder recovery, through timely interventions and support strategies.
  • Provide educational support to family members and caregivers, helping them better understand and manage mental health challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse clientele struggling with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will work with individuals from different backgrounds and age groups, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet their unique needs.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proven experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating proficiency in delivering therapeutic services.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.
  • A background in dealing with various mental health conditions and substance use challenges.
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of how psychotropic medications interact with therapeutic interventions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey treatment plans and therapeutic concepts to clients and collaborators.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating kindness, empathy, and supportiveness.
Compensation and Benefits
