Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
  • Obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger structure
  • Managing a client base for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting services and special projects and ensuring timely reporting
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal staff and clients
  • Occasionally working remotely with clients at their off-site locations to facilitate their financial reporting needs
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks with the time requested
  • Providing various training and support for other team members of the client accounting and advisory group and other firm departments
  • Preparation and/or review annual 1099 forms
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and multiple QuickBooks editions, further achieving ProAdvisor status within 1 year of hire date
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and processing of payroll via third-party payroll providers
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Reviewing staff level projects primarily for internal use financial statements
  • In office at least 3 days per week
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
  • Combination of experience in public and private accounting a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP, Cash Basis Accounting, Tax Accounting, and Depreciation
  • Experience with other accounting and ERP software, such as NetSuite, Intacct, and Dynamics a plus
  • Attending networking and marketing events
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethics

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
