Job description

Metis Technology Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Senior Regulatory Analyst to provide specialized engineering and analytical services in support of National Airspace System (NAS) operations. This role focuses on supporting safety-critical NAS systems, including interfaces with administrative NAS support systems, rather than business-oriented IT systems. The Senior Regulatory Analyst will perform critical tasks such as logistics, reliability, maintainability, availability analysis, and failure analysis, while also providing engineering support for air transportation safety systems. The role includes robust safety analysis to address risks and inform updates to aviation safety oversight policies, processes, and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform robust safety analysis using analytical methodologies and mitigation development processes to address risks and inform changes in aviation safety oversight, policies, processes, and requirements.
  • Engineer and maintain interfaces between administrative NAS support systems and operational NAS systems to ensure seamless functionality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and safety analyses.
  • Stay current with FAA standards, aviation regulations, and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience: 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Specialized Skills: Experience supporting FAA NAS systems and operations, including but not limited to Air Traffic Operations, Air Traffic Safety System, Air Traffic Management, Air Traffic Operations Training, Air Traffic Safety System Training, Aviation Safety, Technical Operations, or System Operations.
  • Proficiency in safety analysis methodologies, risk assessment, and mitigation development.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Understanding of FAA regulations, aviation safety standards, and data privacy requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Specialized FAA or aviation-unique certifications (e.g., FAA Air Traffic Control or Aviation Safety certifications).
  • Experience with NAS-specific tools and systems for real-time operations or safety analysis.
  • Certifications in relevant technical areas (e.g., Certified Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineering Professional).
