The employee functions as a crew leader, overseeing the work of lower-level Plumbers, prisoners, and others, and performs journey-level plumbing assignments. This position has 50% or more prisoner contact and/or supervision and is in the secured area of the prison. Position Description SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENT: Possession of a journey plumber's license issued by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
Required Education and Experience PLUMBER E10 EDUCATION Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. EXPERIENCE Five years of experience in the plumbing trade, including one year equivalent to a Plumber E9 in State service. Alternate Education and Experience Completion of a vocational training program in plumbing that includes commercial or industrial level instruction may be substituted for two years of experience assisting skilled trades people.
Additional Requirements and Information The Department of Corrections may screen out job applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017.
