GYOTAKU NIU Valley (5728 Kalaniana'ole Hwy. Honolulu, HI 96821)

Sushi Maker - From $16-$24/hr. (based on experience) + tips, AM/PM shifts available

Join our team as a Sushi Maker at GYOTAKU JAPANESE RESTAURANT! We are looking for passionate individuals who love creating delicious sushi dishes. Whether you're a seasoned sushi chef or just starting out, we offer competitive pay rates from $16 to $24 per hour plus tips, based on experience. This position is available for both part-time and full-time roles with morning and evening shifts available.

Sushi Maker Pay Grades (Plus approximately $2 to $4 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts)

  • Sushi III - Trainee through ability to work maki rolling station expertly $16 - $18/hr.
  • Sushi II - Ability to work maki and nigiri stations expertly $18 - $21/hr.
  • Sushi I - Ability to work maki, nigiri, fish cutting stations expertly $20 - $24/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sushi rice and ingredients for sushi rolls.
  • Roll, shape, and assemble sushi dishes according to recipes.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of all sushi products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Maker or similar role preferred but not required. Training provided.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
