What does a Commercial Finance Manager Do:

The Commercial Finance Manager is a valued member of the Finance Team contributing to the strategic opportunities in the Travel Experiences division at a Global or Regional level. Examples of these may include:

  • Proposition Pricing
  • Sensitivity Analysis
  • Market-Entry or “Power Up” Strategies
  • Evaluation of Client Requests
  • Global reporting, forecasting and budgeting
  • Ad Hoc (solving for challenges, realising opportunities, regulatory issues, major client requests)

You will work closely with the Global Commercial Finance Team to drive forward key projects across the entire spectrum of the Travel Experiences division, collaborating with the Americas stakeholders to gather information, make recommendations, seek alignment to get them delivered and track results in a timely manner.

You will be leveraging globally available pricing and analysis tools or building innovative bespoke models that are flexible, automated and aligned to global commercial frameworks. Regular external (client) contact is also expected.

The Americas region encompasses the United States, Canada and Latin America countries.

What You'll Do:

  • Financial modelling / business casing, competitive analysis, consumer research, legal or regulatory guidelines
  • Clear project definition (scope, desired outputs, key stakeholders)
  • Gather the essential information – facts and views – from key stakeholders and interrogate logically and rationally
  • Develop recommendations, with clear rationale
  • Present the output with a clear story, from current situation through to recommendation
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to align to a recommendation, and feed into the delivery process
  • Support the Commercial and Marketing teams in framing problems and opportunities, or with commercial modelling, and the presentation of these both internally and externally
  • Help define our future strategy
  • Build, maintain and enhance relationships with other internal teams and external partnerships
  • Detailed involvement on business planning quarterly and annually as well as monthly reporting

What You'll Need:

  • Strategic mindset
  • Problem-solving ability, using both creative and/or structured thinking as necessary
  • Strong commercial modelling skills (including Excel)
  • Collaborative, easy to work with
  • A good communicator (use and awareness of verbal and non-verbal, presenting, PPT)
  • Experience of forming hypotheses, delivering business cases and tying customer experience and client opportunities to business value
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with changing priorities and demands
  • Degree holder or equivalent, with at least 5 years relevant experience in Finance Analytics / FP&A
  • Qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent would be a plus.
