We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our cardiology team. In this role, you will work closely with cardiologists, clinical staff, and patients to provide exceptional cardiovascular care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The RN serves as a key resource for patient education, care coordination, and clinical support, helping ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care throughout their treatment journey.
This position partners with physicians and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care, manage clinical needs, facilitate communication with pharmacies and outside providers, and support efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities
• Assist cardiologists during patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
• Room patients, obtain and document medical histories, assess cardiac-related symptoms, collect vital signs, and accurately document information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Administer medications, immunizations, treatments, and injections within scope of licensure.
• Triage patient concerns, assess symptoms, and collaborate with providers to ensure timely and appropriate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular conditions, medications, diagnostic testing, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, and patient care follow-up to support continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacies, hospitals, and other healthcare providers regarding patient needs and treatment plans.
• Support efficient clinic operations by coordinating patient schedules and facilitating thorough, patient-centered appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Participate in care coordination activities and other duties as assigned to support quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Valid and current RN licensure in the state of Iowa
    • Registered Nurse (RN) - Iowa Board of Nursing
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
  • 3+ years of nursing experience preferred (Cardiology or Critical Care)
