Assistant General Manager

At Mariscos San Pedro, we're passionate about celebrating the flavors, hospitality, and culture of Mexico while creating unforgettable dining experiences for our guests. We are seeking a service-driven hospitality leader to join our leadership team and support the continued growth and success of our restaurant.

As the Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to lead daily operations, develop team members, maintain exceptional hospitality standards, and ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is excited by the opportunity to strengthen operational consistency, develop teams, and grow as a hospitality professional.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain and continuously improve food quality, hospitality, and service standards.
  • Monitor daily performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist with implementing operational procedures that increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Help execute private events, special activations, and community initiatives that strengthen the Mariscos San Pedro brand.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house staff to consistently exceed guest expectations.
  • Serve as a visible and active presence on the floor, leading by example during service.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen leadership to promote strong communication and teamwork between front- and back-of-house teams.

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Assist with staff scheduling, labor management, payroll review, menu updates, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives, guest engagement programs, and sales-building opportunities.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests and team members through consistent monitoring and adherence to company standards.
  • Assist in evaluating and improving operational, safety, and training procedures.

Qualifications

  • Restaurant management experience required; candidates looking to take the next step in their hospitality leadership career are encouraged to apply.

  • Prior experience with Toast POS, including both front-end and back-end functionality, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with 7shifts scheduling software and Paylocity payroll systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Weekday, evening, holiday, and weekend availability is required.
