Position Summary:
This is heavily an intake and administrative role. The responsibility of the Prior Auth Clerk is to provide administrative support to the prior authorization team. They need to be extremely detailed oriented and proficient with the computer to be able to work and navigate the computer and systems quickly.
Major Job Duties:
You will assist in receiving and reviewing prescription prior-authorization requests from providers
Responsible for providing general Prior Authorization information requests via fax, email, phone etc.
Receiving and reviewing a lot of clinical documents from doctor's offices and other providers so they need to have a healthcare background in order to be familiar with reading these types of documents.
What We Look For:
HS diploma or GED
Candidates must have 1-2 years of strong administrative experience from a healthcare background
Must be very detailed oriented and able to multi-task and navigate through various screens
Must be proficient with computer and able to use and learn systems quickly
Strong typing skills
