Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Flatbed Printing Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain specialized wide-format digital and UV flatbed printing equipment. This position is responsible for producing high-quality graphics and finished products on a variety of rigid and flexible substrates while maintaining production efficiency, accuracy, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate wide-format digital and UV flatbed printing machines.
  • Load and position substrates such as wood, acrylic, glass, metal, plastic, and other materials.
  • Review and verify digital artwork, print files, dimensions, color settings, and production specifications before printing.
  • Perform equipment calibration, alignment, ink checks, and other machine adjustments to maintain consistent print quality.
  • Monitor printing operations and troubleshoot common equipment, media, and print-quality issues.
  • Inspect completed products for color accuracy, registration, coverage, defects, and overall quality.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on printers and related equipment.
  • Safely handle substrates, inks, tools, and production materials.
  • Maintain accurate production records and follow established workflow and quality-control procedures.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
  • Communicate with production, design, and finishing teams to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating wide-format, digital, screen, or UV printing equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of printing processes, substrates, inks, and basic color-management principles.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, production specifications, and digital files.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing defect-free work.
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple production priorities.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and position printing substrates and materials.
  • Experience with RIP software or graphic-design applications is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required by the production environment.
  • Ability to work around printing equipment, inks, and production machinery while following all applicable safety procedures.

Work Environment

This position works in a production/manufacturing environment with exposure to printing equipment, machinery, inks, and various substrates. The successful candidate will be expected to follow safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and meet established production and quality standards.
