The Kento is an emerging technology platform that combines digital printing and flexographic (flexo) capabilities into one advanced system - offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with equipment that is still relatively new within the U.S. market. Position Summary
The Kento Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring hybrid digital and flexographic printing equipment used in the production of high-quality packaging materials. This role plays a key part in ensuring print quality, production efficiency, and overall equipment performance while supporting the continued growth of advanced print capabilities at QPI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Kento hybrid digital/flexographic printing equipment according to job specifications
  • Monitor print quality, color consistency, and registration throughout production runs
  • Review job tickets, production schedules, and customer specifications for accuracy
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and minimize downtime
  • Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and equipment upkeep
  • Troubleshoot print quality and mechanical issues in partnership with maintenance and leadership teams
  • Inspect finished materials to ensure compliance with customer and quality standards
  • Track production metrics including output, waste, downtime, and efficiencies
  • Properly handle inks, substrates, plates, and related production materials
  • Support press changeovers and material staging activities
  • Maintain organized, clean, and tour-ready work areas
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Assist in training and supporting team members as operations continue to grow
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction

Qualifications
  • Experience operating digital printing equipment, flexographic presses, or related manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Interest in learning advanced hybrid printing technologies
  • Understanding of print quality standards, color control, and registration preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn new processes and technology

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training in printing technology, manufacturing, or related field preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands for operating and adjusting machinery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong visual acuity, including close vision and color differentiation
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a production environment
