Job Description:

Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of UV Print Machine Operator for the Fabrication Department. This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s UV Printer position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider.

The UV Print Machine Operator is a skilled professional responsible for operating and maintaining UV printing machines used to apply UV-curable inks onto various substrates, such as paper, plastic, glass, or metal. They play a vital role in the printing process, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality printed materials according to customer specifications.We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

In this role you will get to:
  • Machine Setup: Prepare and set up the UV print machine by loading the appropriate inks, calibrating the print heads, and adjusting machine settings to match the printing requirements.
  • Material Handling: Load and position the printing substrates onto the machine's bed, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate printing. Stack and label finished product for transit in house.
  • Printing Operations: Operate the UV print machine to apply UV-curable inks onto the substrates, ensuring the correct colors, saturation, and resolution as per customer orders. Input instructions to program automated machinery, using a computer.
  • Quality Control: Regularly inspect printed materials to verify print quality and color accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to maintain high printing standards. Monitor feeding, printing, and racking processes of UV Printer and Engraver to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the UV print machine, including cleaning print heads, replacing consumables, and troubleshooting minor issues to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Color Management: Calibrate and monitor color profiles to achieve consistent color reproduction throughout the print production process.
  • Job Scheduling: Organize and schedule print jobs to meet production timelines and deadlines.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating the UV print machine, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety regulations.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor the printing process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies.
  • Documentation: Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts. This also includes daily production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports, etc.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members, including graphic designers, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production flow and meet customer requirements.
  • Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.
  • Monitor inventory of materials and supplies to ensure continual printer operation.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 months of experience with a UV Printer or any Industrial printing equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read instructions, safely operate machines and visually inspect parts produced.
  • Accuracy and timeliness in completion of work assignments is a must.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma
  • Technical secondary education is preferred. Additional technical education or vocational training in printing or graphic arts is a plus.
  • Have basic computer skills and accurate data entry experience for receiving and issuing products.
  • Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc. and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.
  • The job may involve standing for extended periods and lifting/moving printing substrates (up to 50 pounds).
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating UV print machines and related software.
  • Knowledge of color management and printing techniques to achieve accurate color reproduction.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect and resolve print quality issues.
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills for UV print machines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
