Job DescriptionSUMMARY

The Ink Technician, reports to the Technical Manager of the Printing and Converting Departments. Responsible for blending and toning inks for color match and removal of ink waste to haz waste shed. The Printing shift supervisor will direct their daily activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties as assigned)

FACILITY;

In this position the employee is responsible for blending and toning inks for color match. Monitor inventory and communicate with the ink company for stock and control. Assist in trouble shooting ink related printing issues. Notify management whenever equipment is found to be malfunctioning or damaged.Must meet production and quality standards. Organizes work flow for smooth operation. Make necessary adjustments and monitor equipment so product complies to work order. Other duties as maybe assigned.

OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS;

Must have good speaking skills. Must be able to read, write and understand English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and employees both in person and through written and verbal correspondence. Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and be self motivated. Ability to read and understand a measuring tape.

HEALTH AND SAFETY;

Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor's guidelines. Visually inspects the facility for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and helps to maintain a clean work environment. Maintain ink room and surrounding in accordance to plant SQF and GMP practices.

QUALIFICATIONS;

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduation or its equivalent preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have good speaking skills. Must be able to read, write and understand English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and employees both in person and through written and verbal correspondence. Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and be self motivated. Ability to read and understand a measuring tape.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to comprehend the use of a tape measure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently walks throughout the facility handling ink requirements and having occasional contact with co-workers. Manual dexterity required with exposure to arm, wrist and back fatigue. The employee continuously uses their arms, hands and fingers to handle, grasp, hold, grip and squeeze. Bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, sitting, carrying, standing in one place, reaching, pushing and pulling for general duties. A minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds is required. Occasional climbing/descending of stairs as well as pushing a broom to clean the production floor. The employee stands and frequently walks the production area to locate materials, check supplies, locate pallets and help where needed. The employee routinely steps up 1 feet and pulls themselves into the seat of a forklift. Operation of forklift and lifting equipment are essential to job responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely interrupted by telephone calls and co-workers soliciting information. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud. An essential part of this position is to work in a teamwork environment.
