PRINTER
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Printer Operator operates off-set printing machines to produce work-in-progress goods or finished goods according to customer/stock specifications. Performs quality checks and packages finished goods according to the production order/customer specification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Performs all tasks necessary to operate equipment according to procedure.
• Implements customer required quality requirements by performing specified quality checks/inspections per customer specification.
• Packages and labels work-in-progress products according to the Control Plan.
• When an order ends, performs a line clearance.
• Complete cleaning/color changes.
• Set up new job orders in accordance with specifications given (on equipment)
• Actively communicates with coworkers – key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement.
• Follows work instructions as needed and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions.
• Performs root cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately or appropriate personnel need to be called.
• Maintains 5S environment in work area.
• Sweeps any debris from work area in the production area and machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
Assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
• Printing experience preferred but not required
• Maintains positive team environment.
• Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
