We're looking to hire a talented Project Manager based in Denton, TX.


Reporting to the AMI Global Sales Director, the Project Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the ESAB capital equipment project management team responsible from quote to customer acceptance. Projects include new equipment, retrofits, and customer engineered solutions across the automated cutting and welding industry. Partner and collaborate across the ESAB organization with sales, product management, manufacturing, and field service teams to exceed customer expectations for delivery and product performance.


Primary Duties

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives while leading project team efforts across new equipment (automated welding, cutting, and orbital tig) and retrofits of cutting machines from quote to customer acceptance.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure strategy, adjustments, and progress for a clean project delivery.
  • Partner with finance to prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan to ensure adequate staffing and cost.
  • Track project costs to meet time and budget.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization focused on process discipline, collaboration, and business acumen.
  • Develop and strengthen project management process, tools, and capabilities appropriate to varied project scale and complexity.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of five employees through performance review, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance deficiencies or concerns.
  • Participate in project and install planning meetings to provide guidance to the teams and ensure open communication of challenges and solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be required to support business needs.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of project management or related experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Ability to partner with customers with clear communications and expectations management.
  • Proven ability to organize and complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and extremely resourceful.
  • Direct people management and experience working in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated program and project management experience for portfolio of complex projects up to $30M.
  • Proficient on office equipment and computers, including, but not limited to, Word, Outlook, Project, and Excel.

Working Conditions


  • Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment 'PPE' when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
  • Moves transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
  • May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
  • Travel approximately 15-25% to support customers and manufacturing facilities.
