Overview:
The Production Print Shop Employee is responsible for producing high-quality printed materials while operating and maintaining digital printing and finishing equipment. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate digital production printers, copiers, wide-format printers, and related equipment.
  • Prepare print files and verify job specifications before production.
  • Set up and run print jobs according to customer requirements.
  • Perform finishing operations including cutting, folding, binding, laminating, padding, drilling, scoring, perforating, and packaging.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure accuracy in color, alignment, trimming, and finishing.
  • Maintain production schedules and prioritize work to meet customer deadlines.
  • Package completed jobs for pickup, delivery, or shipping.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on production equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of paper, toner, ink, and other production supplies.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Assist customers and team members with job questions, production timelines, and product recommendations.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous print shop or production experience preferred.
  • Experience operating digital production printers and finishing equipment is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and print production software.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Bend, stoop, reach, and move materials throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity to operate production and finishing equipment.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with moderate noise levels.

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Fiery Command WorkStation or similar print workflow software.
  • Experience with variable data printing.
  • Experience operating equipment such as:
  • Canon, Ricoh, Xerox, Konica Minolta, or Sharp production presses
  • WebCRD
  • Hydraulic or electric paper cutters
  • Booklet makers
  • Laminators
  • Coil, comb, and wire binding equipment
