Graphic Design: Associate Level II

Reports To: Team Lead and Creative Director

Job Description___________________________________________________________

Job Summary

Graphic Designers at the Associate Level II position are expected to apply art, design and copy layout skills to create visually appealing concepts for both print and digital media, prepare art for print across varying forms of printed media as well as generate product mockups to be used as proofs for customer orders and/or upload to e-commerce platforms. Team members are expected to understand and execute design principles, communicate effectively with fellow designers and clients, and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously within strict deadlines from conceptualization to completion with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions, Daily Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients (verbally and in writing) to determine their needs and create appealing designs according to their specifications.
  • Generate product mockups to use in customer order proofs and/or upload to ecommerce platforms.
  • Manage client design revisions and approval of artwork
  • Prep art files to be printed across various forms of media
  • Have a basic understanding of different print processes, apparel types, and the production methods best suited across different forms of printed media
  • Design eyecatching graphics for print and digital advertising campaigns geared towards progressive campaigns and politically aligned organizations
  • Utilize provided client materials and recommend alternative solutions when necessary if supplied art is not up to industry standards to ensure highquality end products. This may include the recreation of existing designs or creation of concepts from scratch.
  • Coordinate with other team members and departments throughout the company to ensure high quality product outputs
  • Keep up with design trends and topics in the news/political field and be able to execute design work based on upcoming or current trends
  • Collaborates with Creative Director and fellow internal design team members on specialized projects
  • Maintains records of billable project time for client work
  • Initiative to pick up projects and be a self starter
  • Uphold and adhere to company brand standards

  • Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop additional Adobe software knowledge a plus
  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects that shows knowledge of design fundamentals and strong typography skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of preproduction workflow with minimal errors
  • Ability to take direction and critique
  • Ability to research issues and keep up with current trends in the news cycle
  • Willingness to work longer hours particularly during peak campaign cycles
  • Understanding of printed media techniques, particularly with largescale flat media and apparel is a plus
  • Shows understanding of ecommerce platforms
  • Working knowledge of HTML preferred
