Job description
Reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, the Treasury Manager will be a hands-on transformation leader responsible for building and executing FORTÉ’s global treasury operating model. The immediate mandate is to establish reliable cash visibility across the Company’s expanded banking network; strengthen cash and banking controls; ensure debt compliance; improve cash management and forecasting; and rationalize bank accounts while integrating international operations. Building on that foundation, the Treasury Manager will lead the transition of treasury activities and bank accounts, where feasible, to a primary global banking relationship and develop scalable practices for liquidity, banking, financial risk management, and internal control across FORTÉ’s global footprint.
The role will partner closely with Accounting, Tax, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, and regional leadership to manage cash efficiently across countries and jurisdictions, evaluate cash pooling and hedging strategies, comply with local requirements, and support tax-efficient cross-border funding and capital deployment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical treasury expertise with project management discipline, sound judgment, and a builder’s mindset suited to a rapidly growing global organization.
Immediate Priorities
- Establish timely, reliable visibility into cash balances and liquidity across the Company’s banking network.
- Strengthen cash, payment, bank administration, access, reconciliation, and fraud-prevention controls.
- Own debt administration and compliance, including borrowing availability, covenant reporting, interest and fee calculations, and required deliverables.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting to build short- and long-term cash forecasting, forecast ownership, and forecast-to-actual analysis across business units and regions.
- Rationalize bank accounts and lead the treasury integration into the Company’s primary global banking relationship.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Global Banking Consolidation and Treasury Transformation
- Lead the transition of global treasury activities and bank accounts, where feasible, to a primary global banking relationship while accommodating local regulatory, operational, currency, and business requirements.
- Define the global treasury operating model, including centralized and regional responsibilities, decision rights, approval authorities, service standards, and escalation protocols.
- Standardize global cash positioning, forecasting, payments, bank administration, intercompany funding, risk management, and treasury reporting processes across countries and banking relationships.
- Develop and execute a phased banking transition roadmap, coordinate with regional teams and banking partners, manage account openings and closures, support testing and cutover activities, and drive stakeholder communication and adoption.
- Establish reliable connectivity and information flows among banks, ERP systems, payment processes, and financial reporting tools, including appropriate security, access, and reconciliation controls.
Global Cash and Liquidity Management
- Manage daily global cash positioning and liquidity to ensure funds are available in the right legal entity, currency, and jurisdiction when needed while minimizing idle balances and external borrowing.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasting models; analyze forecast-to-actual results and improve forecast ownership and accuracy across business units and regions.
- Evaluate, design, and execute physical or notional cash pooling, cash concentration, in-house bank, and multi-currency netting structures where economically beneficial and legally permissible.
- Optimize short-term investment of excess cash within approved risk parameters, including counterparty, concentration, liquidity, maturity, and yield considerations.
- Coordinate funding for acquisitions, capital expenditures, debt service, dividends or distributions, payroll, taxes, and other significant global cash requirements.
Banking, Debt, and Capital Management
- Lead day-to-day relationships with global banking partners and serve as the primary internal owner for banking services, account structures, treasury products, and service performance.
- Negotiate and manage banking fees, earnings credits, interest rates, foreign exchange pricing, service agreements, guarantees, letters of credit, and other treasury arrangements.
- Administer global bank accounts, including opening and closing accounts, maintaining authorized signers, managing user access and entitlements, and completing KYC and regulatory documentation.
- Monitor compliance with debt agreements, borrowing availability, covenant requirements, interest and fee calculations, maturities, and required treasury reporting.
- Support financing and capital structure initiatives, including revolver activity, term debt, local credit facilities, intercompany loans, and other sources of liquidity.
Cross-Border Funding, Tax, and Regulatory Compliance
- Partner with Tax, Legal, Accounting, and external advisors to determine the most efficient and compliant methods to move, deploy, and repatriate cash among countries and legal entities.
- Evaluate intercompany loans, capital contributions, dividends, cash pooling, and other funding alternatives considering tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, foreign exchange, legal, and regulatory implications.
- Ensure treasury activities comply with applicable local banking, exchange control, sanctions, anti-money laundering, corporate authorization, data protection, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for intercompany funding, guarantees, hedging transactions, bank authorities, and cross-border cash movements.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments that may affect cash accessibility, repatriation, funding costs, or treasury risk and recommend timely actions.
Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate, and Financial Risk Management
- Identify, quantify, and monitor foreign currency, interest rate, liquidity, and counterparty exposures across the global organization.
- Develop and maintain treasury risk management policies, exposure thresholds, hedge objectives, approved instruments, counterparty limits, and reporting requirements.
- Evaluate and execute foreign exchange forwards, options, swaps, and other approved hedging instruments in accordance with Company policy and delegated authority.
- Partner with Accounting to ensure derivatives, valuations, settlements, and hedge accounting documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
- Provide clear reporting to senior leadership on market exposures, hedge coverage, effectiveness, costs, and residual risks.
Internal Controls, Governance, and Reporting
- Design, document, implement, and continuously improve internal controls over cash, payments, banking, investments, debt, intercompany funding, derivatives, and treasury systems.
- Establish segregation of duties, dual-approval requirements, payment limits, access reviews, bank account reconciliations, fraud prevention controls, and exception monitoring appropriate for a global organization.
- Maintain global treasury policies, standard operating procedures, bank account inventories, authority matrices, counterparty records, and audit-ready supporting documentation.
- Coordinate treasury-related audit requests; promptly investigate control exceptions, failed payments, unauthorized activity, and bank reconciliation issues.
- Develop dashboards and management reporting for cash, liquidity, debt, investments, exposures, hedges, bank fees, counterparty risk, and key treasury performance indicators.
Leadership and Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as the Company’s treasury subject-matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership and regional finance teams.
- Build effective working relationships across Accounting, Tax, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Operations, M&A, and international subsidiaries.
- Support treasury due diligence and integration for acquisitions, including bank account transition, liquidity planning, controls, systems, debt, intercompany funding, and foreign exchange exposure.
- Train regional finance teams and other stakeholders on treasury policies, systems, controls, and cash forecasting responsibilities.
- Lead special projects and other treasury initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive corporate treasury, banking, treasury consulting, or related finance experience, including meaningful responsibility in a multinational environment.
- Demonstrated experience with global cash management, liquidity forecasting, bank administration, cross-border funding, foreign exchange risk, and treasury internal controls.
- Experience leading a global banking consolidation, bank account rationalization, cash management transformation, or comparable multinational treasury initiative.
- Ability to evaluate complex treasury issues across multiple jurisdictions and coordinate effectively with Tax, Legal, Accounting, banks, and external advisors.
- Strong project management, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate strategy into documented and sustainable processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience developing concise, decision-useful treasury reporting for senior leadership.
- High degree of integrity, judgment, attention to detail, accountability, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information and payment authority.
- Ability to work across global time zones and travel domestically or internationally as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.
- Master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional credential.
- Working knowledge of cash pooling, intercompany lending, foreign exchange and interest rate instruments, and the operational requirements of derivative transactions.
- Experience executing foreign exchange or interest rate hedging programs and supporting hedge accounting under U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with global ERP platforms, bank APIs or host-to-host connectivity, SWIFT, and treasury reporting or business intelligence tools.
- Experience supporting international acquisitions, integrations, or legal entity expansion.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing, withholding tax, exchange controls, and other considerations affecting cross-border cash movement.
