Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Security Advisor to serve as a senior customer-facing security authority supporting complex technical sales engagements and strategic customer interactions. This role is responsible for articulating the security architecture and technical superiority of the Vultr platform, including hypervisor security, infrastructure security controls, and the broader IaaS security stack during RFP responses and advanced customer evaluations. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Cloud infrastructure, Confidential Computing, GPU compute solutions, sovereign cloud deployments, and cloud security architecture, and control mapping, as well as the ability to transition seamlessly between high-level advisory discussions and deep technical validation required to close enterprise and regulated-industry deals.. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require extensive customer-facing experience, strong technical sales capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior security advisor during complex customer sales engagements, supporting Sales and Business Development teams throughout the deal lifecycle and to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead security discussions with customers, articulating the design and security advantages of the Vultr platform, including hypervisor isolation, infrastructure protection, and network segmentation.
  • Support RFP, RFQ, and security due diligence responses by clearly demonstrating the technical superiority and security capabilities of the Vultr platform and completing customer questionnaires or other documentation accordingly..
  • Address advanced technical security questions and objections that exceed the scope of traditional Sales Engineering teams.
  • Communicate the Vultr Security Stack, including compute isolation, infrastructure security controls, network architecture, and platform resilience.
  • Conduct customer security control mapping to security frameworks and privacy regulations.
  • Provide deep technical validation for enterprise customers, ensuring security architecture requirements are met during procurement and technical evaluation phases.
  • Assist Sales teams in accelerating deal closure by removing technical blockers and providing authoritative security guidance.
  • Present security architecture briefings and technical workshops to customers, partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to ensure customer security requirements are accurately represented and supported.
  • Assist in the development of security documentation, reference architectures, and technical collateral supporting customer trust and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in security reviews and proof-of-concept evaluations for strategic customer deployments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on GPU-based compute infrastructure, high-performance cloud computing, and secure sovereign cloud deployments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer, security teams, and technical leadership during the evaluation and procurement process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, and senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging and technical alignment.
  • Contribute to the development of security positioning strategies for regulated industries, including government, healthcare, and financial services.

Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in cloud security, security architecture, or technical security advisory roles within cloud infrastructure or technology providers.
  • Extensive customer-facing experience supporting technical sales engagements, particularly within cloud infrastructure or enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud compute infrastructure, GPU-based workloads, and high-performance computing environments.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of physical security controls within data center and cloud infrastructure environments, including facility access management, surveillance systems, hardware protection, and environmental safeguards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IaaS security architectures, including hypervisor isolation, infrastructure segmentation, identity and access controls, and network security models.
  • Experience supporting enterprise RFP responses and technical validation processes.
  • Ability to address complex technical objections and influence customer security decision-making during procurement cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Strong written communication skills for internal documentation, customer security responses, and executive briefings.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams, including Sales, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and executive leadership.
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Ability to translate complex technical security concepts into clear and compelling customer-facing narratives.

Compensation
$160,000 - $175,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
