Job description

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Scrum Master is a leader within the IT organization, responsible for driving the successful delivery of technology solutions that directly support the company’s strategic objectives. This role oversees delivery activities, builds strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders, and ensures team processes and solutions are effective, efficient, and aligned to organizational goals. The Scrum Master is accountable for building, growing, and continuously improving delivery practices, with a strong focus on resource planning, execution excellence, and measurable business outcomes. This position reports to the Director, Discovery & Architecture. 

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of handson experience leading technology delivery, or a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience supporting and delivering technology solutions. Agile and/or Scrum certification is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience leveraging an integrated skill set spanning delivery management, project management, and business analysis to plan, direct, and coordinate multiple technology initiatives from inception through delivery and maintenance using agile methodologies.
3. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and solution development skills.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Strong presentation skills.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to balance competing priorities and trade-offs.
6. Strong relationship management and customer service skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
7. Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related State and Federal laws and regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Manage the delivery of technology initiatives across various domains; including scope of work, risk management, and change management.
2. Ensure solution recommendations align with overall technology strategy and make use of existing technology assets whenever appropriate.
3 .Coordinate technology resources and guide effective completion of initiatives. Organize and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
4. Support resource planning, prioritization, and workload management.
5. Educate and coach the team on Agile principles and practices.
6. Drive continuous improvement in IT delivery processes, methodologies, and tools.
7. Manage and mitigate risks and issues, escalating and resolving them as necessary.
8. Provide timely directions and feedback to team members and work to ensure they have the resources necessary to successfully complete tasks.
9. Ensure project, backlog and support documentation is created and maintained per organization standards.
10. Provide clear and timely communication on backlog status, issues, risks, and changes to management and stakeholders.
11. Track and report on key performance metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and cycle time, and use metrics to identify areas for improvement to drive the team’s performance.
12. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, user satisfaction, and operational excellence.
13. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on delivering value to the organization.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
