Job description

The engineer will be responsible for evaluating the design and troubleshooting the enterprise wide LAN/WAN and Wireless network across the Campus/Branch networks. As part of the Level 3 Network Operations team the engineer is required to collaborate with the various teams including Computing, Security and End-User technologies teams to understand the applications and provide end to end network solution as per the firm network standards. The candidate will also be focused on building the campuses and branches into Smart Building leveraging IoT to transform various functions while working with various teams from End User Technologies, Security and Computing. Apart from extensive knowledge in networking and security technologies hands on experience with any of advanced technologies such as SDWAN, SD Access, network virtualization, cloud connectivity is also desired. Working experience with Analytical tools like Splunk is highly desired. Must be a good team player and able to work independently as well. The candidate will also help and verify the design that are handed over by engineering, making sure that it meets all design standards, technical and business requirements and follow through the successful deployment of the network topologies as per design principals. It is very important to maintain an updated network diagrams. The role of an engineer also requires to verify the configuration templates, and the low level design documents to make sure it has all the technical details (routing/switching, approved firewall rules, bandwidth analysis, capacity analysis, and understanding of the application flows, etc.). Build a migration steps that are required for the deployment of the design. The candidate must be detailed oriented as the role does require a person to be thorough in every aspect of the project and deployment tasks that includes performing a detail pre/post routines of all changes. The candidate needs to make sure that the changes are fully approved and has been thoroughly reviewed during the team meetings. Often enough, the person will be required to explain the changes to senior management also. The engineer will also be primary point of contact for the deployment of his/her network changes and required to be able to work diligently over the weekend. The candidate will also act as a mentor to share knowledge to team members across the organization. Participate in the weekly design meetings and actively engage with various resources to develop the execution and test plans for network changes. Serve as an escalation for the L1, L2 and L3 operating teams as needed. The candidate must be able to write, create and maintain best practices/policies/procedures and ensure that they are followed.
