Job description

AI agents are opening up a whole new way to build on the cloud. Developers can describe what they want and watch an agent stand it up. This role works on enabling the next generation of agentic development in the cloud, making AWS the place developers and their agents love to build on.
We are looking for a Principal Developer Experience Engineer to set and drive that strategy

You will decide where AWS invests agent-driven builds, define what a great agent experience looks like across the portfolio, and turn that into content, standards, and product direction that service teams adopt. You will work hands-on where it matters and lead through influence everywhere else.
A day in the life
No two days look the same, but most weeks you will spend real time building. You will build with AWS to dive deep on the experience

You will turn what you learn into content and guidance that developers and their agents can rely on.
You will spend the rest of your time moving the strategy forward. That means working with service and product teams on the changes that make their services easier to build with, writing the docs that set direction, and helping the broader team raise the bar.
About the team
This role will join the AWS Developer Experience organization, where our goal is to win the hearts and minds of developers around the world, by meeting them where they are and providing the right technical education, tools, and resources to enable developer success.

Here at AWS, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences. Ongoing events and learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences, inspire us to never stop embracing our uniqueness.
Mentorship & Career Growth
We're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer

That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
Work/Life Balance
We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture.

When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve in the cloud.
