Job description

Overview of the Position:
Provide engineering design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and / or modify an array of specialized test systems and fixtures, and assembly and inspection tooling from schematics and/or written instructions (specific or inferred). The Mechanical Engineer has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop mechanical design and drafting skills, including basic machining knowledge as applicable. Be key focus and provide expertise on new product introduction.
  • Develop electromechanical skills to include understanding and use of switches and sensors, application and measurement of mechanical load and position.
  • Complete appropriate test documentation and certifying to test results.
  • Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic equipment and techniques.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar field from a four-year college or university, and 2 - 3 years of working experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Aviation component repair or manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Must have familiarity with standard Microsoft office suite.
  • Must be able to generate and update CAD models and drawings using Solidworks and / or Inventor programs.
  • NI / Labview experience, electrical aptitude, military, and aerospace industry experience are all a plus.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
