Primary Therapist – PHP/IOP Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program

Engage Wellness Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Therapist to join our outpatient treatment team. We provide Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and dual diagnoses. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about helping individuals achieve lasting recovery while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Education & Licensure Requirements Required:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related behavioral health field.
  • Wisconsin Substance Abuse Counselor credential or Mental Health license in good standing, including one or more of the following:
  • SAC-IT (Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training)
  • SAC (Substance Abuse Counselor)
  • CSAC (Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor)
  • CSAC-IT (Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training)
  • LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
  • LPC-IT (Licensed Professional Counselor-In Training)
  • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
  • APSW (Advanced Practice Social Worker)
  • CAPSW (Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker)
  • LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • LMFT-IT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-In Training)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Co-Occurring Disorders, Mental Health, and Dual Diagnosis populations.
  • Experience facilitating group therapy in PHP, IOP, residential, or outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Lead psychoeducational groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and mental wellness.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and treatment plan reviews.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as clinically indicated.
  • Coordinate care with referral sources, family members, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Assist clients with discharge planning and connection to community resources.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Wisconsin DHS regulations, Medicaid requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Respond appropriately to crisis situations and coordinate interventions as needed.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards of practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
