Job description

As a Pricing Analyst, you will be a key point of contact on behalf of the Pricing Team for Field Sales representing Distributors in the US with occasional requests from our International team. You will develop an understanding of the market, competition and customers. With this understanding, you will be responsible for managing execution of pricing strategies and guidelines, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing, compliance and business risk mitigation prior to approval of distributor quotations.

Major activities include managing quotation approvals, working with field sales to document supporting market intelligence and obtain necessary approvals from leadership as required. In addition, you will perform in a fast paced, results driven, and collaborative work environment. Your willingness to learn the intricacies of ASSA ABLOY and its quotation process will be essential to your success and the department's effort to maintain excellent customer relations with our field sales force and distribution customers.

This role requires a strategic thinker where negotiation skills and a strong understanding of the Building Industry, hardware manufacturing, systems and project management are a plus. You'll collaborate across other departments-from Business Development and Product Management to Order Entry and Customer Service-to gain a thorough understanding of our business and product lines.

This position is located onsite in New Haven, CT full-time reporting to the Director, Strategic Pricing.

What you will be doing:

  • Quotation Management and Approval: Review quotations submitted for approval for completeness, accuracy, compliance with pricing, profitability and legal guidelines.
  • Communication: Responsible for seeking clarification, acquiring missing information and communicating decisions to facilitate approvals and maintain department quote turnaround obligations to support field sales.
  • Problem Solving: Must be able to analyze and evaluate problems that arise and solve or get answers expeditiously and thoroughly. Actively manage coordination, analyses, and action required upon receipt of information and requests regarding customer needs, pricing, products, competition, and procedure.
  • Quotation System Support: Ensure accurate tracking and performance of approved quotations. Develop an understanding of how the quotation system works and supports procedures and guidelines and its interaction with the ERP system.
  • ERP System Support: Use JDE ERP system to support accuracy of the quoting system data, processes and proper translation of information.
  • Provide monthly support to Pricing Managers to assist with research and resolution of customer billing issues caused by pricing errors resulting in additional charges or credit.
  • Project Leadership: Support any quotation department projects as requested for deliverables significantly impact company's profitability. Actively contribute to development of future quotation system and/or processes capabilities such as forecasting.
  • Collaboration and Guidance: Partner with the Access & Egress Hardware Group to maintain up-to-date product and pricing knowledge for ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA, Corbin Russwin, Norton Rixson, Sargent.
  • Ensure all interactions, including day-to-day duties, are handled consistently and professionally.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in: Business, Finance, Economics, Pricing, Sales Operations, or related discipline(s).
  • Must have 3-5+ years or commensurate experience in a manufacturing setting preferably Building, Construction or Hardware Industry related.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills with a strong aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of pricing principles, market analysis, and cost structures is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a talent for managing priorities in dynamic conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with pricing software, hands-on ERP systems, and/or CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce and JDE, preferred). Advanced use of Microsoft Outlook suite with particularly strong focus and use of Excel required.
