Job description

The Opportunity:

To continue our global expansion, we're looking for a Trucking Pricing Associate to work within our trucking organization. We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented, analytically driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and speed directly impact revenue. In this role you will manage pricing requests, bids, and formal RFPs across Drayage, Cartage/LTL, FTL, and Transload - synthesizing market data, collaborating with procurement on carrier negotiations, and delivering competitive rates that protect margin and win business.

You will:

  • Collaborate with demand and partner pricing teams to support the acquisition of strategic accounts through comprehensive pricing exercises
  • Develop strategies to win trucking business for our freight forwarding client base
  • Manage RFPs for trucking and coordinate with regional trucking procurement team to ensure we have the service offerings in place to win the business
  • Provide account executives with the necessary trucking network intelligence to secure new business
  • Set up, implement and drive new procurement strategies and programs that will enable Flexport to build a more competitive trucking product
  • Conduct complex network studies based on volume flows, strategic priorities and market trends to develop recommendations on future trucking procurement
  • Provide insights and visibility to the regional procurement teams to enable them to make data driven decisions in regards to procurement strategy
  • Enable the global trucking team to accurately report on cost and net revenue for all trucking services

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, BBA or similar relevant area of study is preferred
  • 3-5 years of prior experience as a Supply Chain Solutions Analyst or in Supply Chain or Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Private Equity or Venture Capital Research would be preferred
  • Experience in building complex data models on Excel, developing macros and prior SQL knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in market research, building reporting tools and dashboards and working on process improvement
  • Experience working in the Logistics industry or developing strategy for ground transportation would be a plus
  • Strategic thinking and ground floor execution - no job is too big or too small
  • Exceptional technical aptitude and strong desire for learning new technologies and solution architectures.
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.
