We are currently recruiting for the position of:

The Assistant Center Store Manager assures that our customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective management of the assigned area. This position oversees front-end operations and staff in the absence of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. The Assistant Center Store Manager will rotate responsibility in the following assigned areas:

  • Front-End - Oversees Front-End staff (to include Cashiers and Clerks Helpers) and operations including effective resource scheduling for productivity and customer service level optimization.Oversees parking lot operations and conditions, and is accountable for the store balancing function.
  • Night Crew – Oversees overall Center Store operations. Accountable for productivity standards, oversees night receiving function, facility security, manages shrink and ensures store is ready for next day opening.
  • Frozen/Dairy/Deli - Accountable for productivity, fresh, schematic and stocking standards, planner execution, stock conditions, and manages shrink.
  • Evening - Oversees Center Store merchandising, product and conditions to include back room, steel and shelving.

The Assistant Center Store Manager supervises and trains associates to promote a culture reflective of Food Maxx’s mission statement and winning behaviors. He/she manages performance and productivity of assigned area to ensure standards are met.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Provides customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service
  • Contributes to the positive gross profit goals through effective management of price integrity, shrink control activities, ordering and management of product
  • Directly leads associates in the assigned area with focus on accountability and achieving high level of business performance outcomes
  • Develops and trains associates completes supervision reports and fosters a collaborative working environment
  • Effectively utilizes resources to improve productivity, flexibility and efficiencies of labor, and quality of shopping experience in assigned area
  • Oversees cold chain
  • Manages shrink for assigned area
  • Responsible for price integrity for assigned area
  • Oversees store for cleanliness and sanitation compliance
  • Occasionally in charge of maintaining total store operations in absence of store management
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Dependent upon assigned function, is accountable for the following:

  • Maintains schematic integrity within stocking expectations, shelf conditions, display maintenance
  • Responsible for code date rotation and fresh image
  • Oversees facility for building security, hazardous waste processing, etc.
  • Oversees front-end operations and staff when store is open and Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are not on-site
  • Responsible for night receiving function
  • Manages cashier balancing function
  • Oversees ordering and inventory process

Hiring pay range: $30.37 - 30.37

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, supervision, training, organization, and paperwork/administration, and math skills: excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Department operations, products, and processes, visual merchandising techniques, store hazardous materials and food safety rules, basic applicable contract/work rules
Education

One year of college (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience)

Experience

Minimum six months as Key Carrier or nine months as Perimeter Department Manager or equivalent

Other

Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.Will be required to rotate/train in all Assistant Center Store Manager areas (Front-End, Night Crew, Frozen/Dairy/Deli, and Evening)

Physical

Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects; requires lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance
