What does a prevailing wage carpenter do?

A typical day for a Prevailing Wage Carpenter involves reading and interpreting blueprints, constructing framing, formwork, or finish carpentry on public projects, and using a variety of power and hand tools. The role may require traveling to different worksites and working outdoors or indoors depending on the project. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork are crucial in this dynamic and fast-paced environment. Reliable performance and proper record-keeping are especially important, as these jobs frequently fall under government oversight.
