Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for an experienced full-time Press Operator to work in our Cherryville, NC, location. This person will report to the Production Supervisor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • To operate primary operations equipment- Molding.
  • To efficiently and safely operate equipment, including making satisfactory adjustments to ensure product quality.
  • To know and follow procedures applicable to this job classification.
  • Legibly record and maintain applicable product/process information.
  • Effectively utilize measuring equipment and information obtained from its use to ensure the continuation of control conditions.
  • Provide active input to the continuation of control conditions.
  • Effectively communicate job-related information to co-workers, supervisor, service areas, and others who need to know.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with other functional areas.
  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of this position.
  • Provide assistance in writing new or revising old procedures.
  • Participated in the training of others and aid in their appraisal.
  • Perform other tasks as requested.

  • Qualifications
  • Able to read and understand procedures, process sheets, etc.
  • Able to do basic math calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Understand decimals, Fractions, percentages, averages, etc.
  • Able to write legible sentences.
  • Operate and adjust equipment properly.
  • Properly use measuring equipment and accurately interpret results.
  • Understand and apply SPC fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate satisfactory relational skills with regard to communications, cooperative associations, and participation in continuous improvement.
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable process documentation.
  • Exhibit positive team behaviors.

The base salary range for this position is $17/hour to $21.00/hour.
Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
