Job description

Overview
The Vice President, Strategy and M&A is responsible for leading new acquisition identification and sourcing, market research and analysis, providing analysis to support future investment strategy, developing and maintaining relationships with industry contacts, community owners, and brokers, and assists the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Investments with deal negotiations and production of transaction agreements. Additionally, the position will support the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Investments with review of deal underwriting and valuation, financial due diligence, financial modeling, and will assist in closing processes for all potential and active acquisitions and dispositions as directed. The Vice President, Strategy and M&A oversees deal sourcing, research, transaction execution and provides necessary guidance and career development to direct reports.
This position provides the opportunity to work remote.
Job Duties
  • Oversees and assists with all aspects of new acquisition market research, acquisition target identification, and maintenance of the acquisitions database. (Essential)
  • Responsible for developing new, and maintaining existing relationships with community owners, brokers, and key influencers to maximize deal flow and capture of new business opportunities. (Essential)
  • Participates in industry trade organizations and associations to maximize Sun's exposure and influence in the MH and RV industry. (Essential)
  • Works closely with the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Investments, executive and legal team to assist with contract negotiations and document preparation/finalization for new acquisitions. (Essential)
  • Works closely with the Senior Vice President to review underwriting, due diligence work papers, assists as needed in the resolution of problems arising during the transaction process, and assists as needed in the acquisition closing process. (Essential)
  • Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and assists with technical market research to identify key areas of economic growth which support increased levels of Company Investment.
  • Oversees and assists with the identification of acquisition targets and maintenance of the acquisition database and pipeline management system.
  • Oversees and performs active market outreach to potential acquisition target owners, brokers and influencers via direct mail, e-mail, social media, phone, and in person visits.
  • Continuously develops and maintains relationships with network of brokers, owners, and key influencers to maximize deal flow and maximize capture of acquisition opportunities.
  • Participates in Industry organizations, associations, and other network building organizations to represent and promote Sun's interests and impeccable reputation.
  • Directs the analytics team in preparation of materials for management review (i.e. financial proforma, pricing and structure review, capital requirements, accretion) as directed by the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Investments.
  • Works closely with the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions, attorneys and executive team on contract negotiations and review; identifies potential issues and suggests corrective language to ensure Company's risks and negative financial impact are mini

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field (Required)
  • 8 years in in Real Estate finance, financial analysis and/or accounting experience (Required)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate and manage potential impacts on the company's standing with the public, regulatory authorities, and counterparties
  • Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with colleagues at all levels of the company
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and quickly adapts to new technological tools
