Job description

Position Overview

Directs the day‑to‑day operations of an industrial packaging facility. Manages local scheduling and real‑time operations to maximize human and automated resources, achieving customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence, and economic goals.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production meets specifications and quality standards.
  • Evaluate production orders or schedules to ascertain product data (types, quantities, specifications, delivery dates) for planning facility operations.
  • Maintain production efficiencies, minimize scrap, and report efforts to reduce scrap and increase efficiencies.
  • Direct and coordinate production processes and operational functions to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards across shifts.
  • Assist in plant activity to achieve optimum utilization of machinery and equipment.
  • Recommend capital improvements that enhance safety, product quality, efficiency, or reduce plant operating costs.
  • Develop or revise standard operating and working practices to ensure compliance.
  • Resolve operational, manufacturing, and delivery problems.
  • Communicate accountability and performance expectations to personnel.
  • Monitor and promote a positive morale throughout the facility.
  • Keep informed of technical and management developments for continuous personal growth and coaching of employees.
  • May be assigned special projects by the Plant Director.
Managerial Responsibilities
  • Manage departmental manager(s) who supervise department personnel.
  • Direct overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the facility.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to company policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, address complaints, solve problems, and coordinate the financial and political responsibilities of the plant.
Education, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent. Eight to ten or more years of related experience (or combined equivalent). Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, forecasting, scheduling, real‑time operations management, and coordination of people and resources. Ability to write and analyze reports and business correspondence, and to present information effectively in group environments.

Salary

Starting salary expected between $129,200 and $161,500. Base pay may vary within the full salary range of $129,200 to $193,800 based on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Day Shift Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (FLSA: Exempt, 24/7 plant operation).
