Preschool Director
Position Summary:
The Preschool Education Director manages the daily operations, staff supervision, and curriculum implementation. This role ensures high-quality early childhood education, compliance with New York City Department of Health Article 47 regulations, and the maintenance of a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or an equivalent certification accepted by the State Department of Education.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and classroom quality
  • Assist with staff hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision
  • Ensure compliance with Article 47 health and safety regulations
  • Maintain student and staff records and assist with inspections
  • Build relationships with families and support communication
  • Assist with daily operations, enrollment, and classroom ratios
  • Serve as acting director when needed

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • NY Teaching Certification
  • 2-5 years of preschool experience; leadership experience preferred
